The Story
A Place to Breathe is part of my new painting series inspired by my move to Tarragona and the quiet transformation that followed.

After living in Barcelona, I didn’t realize how much tension I had been carrying until I arrived here. In Tarragona, the air felt different. For the first time in a long while, it felt like the pressure on my chest slowly started to disappear.

This painting is about that feeling of release.

Over the past six months, I found myself returning again and again to my favorite place by the sea, a quiet spot on the rocks where I would sit in the morning or evening, feel the sun on my skin, meditate, and simply be. It became a place where I could calm down, reconnect with myself, and feel inspired again.

The figure in this painting rests in that feeling: held by stillness, surrounded by warmth, and finally able to breathe deeply. For me, this piece represents peace, softness, and the moment you realize that a place can give you back a part of yourself.
